Hubspot’s Inbound is about more than just inbound…
Not to be that girl, but I genuinely LOVE going to professional conferences. I set calendar events for the moment when breakout session sign up starts, I jam pack my schedule, and I try and nab a front row seat for each and every keynote speaker. There are few better feelings than flopping into a hotel bed after a full day of learning and networking, with a room service dinner on it’s way up to your room while you reflect on all the new info you’ve stuffed into your brain.
What I particularly love about Hubspot’s Inbound conference each fall in Boston, is that more often than not I found myself walking away with so much more than new concepts and best practices for digital marketing. Yes of course learning about the flywheel, the benefits of thought leadership, and SEO tips make my marketer brain buzz, but all the speakers they’re able to assemble to speak to new concepts of thinking to be a great human is really what gets me going. Attending Inbound has allowed me to see talks by Tara Westover, Katie Couric, John Cena, Michelle freakin’ Obama, and Alexis Ohanian that all have stuck with me over the years.
2017 was a particularly strong example of top to bottom knock out programming at the conference. I was so inspired, that I wrote this piece for Creative Circle’s blog on my big takeaways from the sessions. I find myself continuing to return to these concepts time and time again while searching for fresh ideas and inspiration in my work. What events or organizations have made an impact in how you work?
